My Bestfriend's Wedding (against 2 hurricanes)

PicturePerfect day for a wedding!
My bestfriend got engaged Fall last year, and we have been preparing for her wedding since then...
Wedding Date: August 8th
Wedding Place: Hilo, Big Island/Hawai'i

Everything was all set and ready, then the news came reporting there were two hurricanes bound for Hawai'i. First was Hurricane Iselle, which was scheduled to hit Hilo the hardest on Thursday, August 7th.  Iselle invited Hurricane Julio to come right after.  While we're bracing for Iselle, we also had an earthquake and hydrogen sulfide release at the geothermal plant in the island. Not to mention, flights were being cancelled to and from the island. Our guests cancellations kept growing.

My co-workers and friends thought we're crazy for heading to Hilo for the wedding.  I guess it really was crazy, but the funny thing was not going didn't even crossed my mind.

We woke up on Thursday to this. Hotel boarded up for the storm. I thanked the employees of Hilo Hawaiian Hotel for keeping the hospitality & the Aloha spirit & their hard work during this panic.

Packed a grab and go bag just in case we had to evacuate. Yes, my daughter sneaked in her book, 101 Ways to Kill a Zombie. Boarded doors and instant food seemed like an episode of Walking Dead to her I guess. Hahaha!

The calm before the storm... Ocean front room wasn't really a good idea at the time.
We woke up still gloomy on THE DAY.  Rain or shine, wedding was definitely on anyway, but somehow the sky cleared up!  HALLELUJAH!!!

The New Mr. & Mrs.!
Gorgeous wedding after hitting rock bottom... Two hurricanes, an earthquake, some chemical release n guests cancellations, but this beautiful couple conquered!

I painted this board, and yes, I hand painted the scripts too! Pain in the butt to do, but anything for this love birds! (Blog on how to hand paint scripts to follow soon!)

LOL literally! It felt good laughing out loud after going through storms with my bestfriend!
It was rough going through that catastrophe, but it made the wedding even more memorable.

Now, back to my DIY projects...
